This guy only collects one album, “The Beatles”, better known as the White Album. The visuals are stunning and worth your time. Check out his story here!
Check out this link… It’s a revealing look at the state of the music industry. Note Green Day’s and Lana Del Ray’s fall and Adele’s 10 million achievement – so interesting. I’m still processing what this all means, but what I do know is that the song is king. Artists must cater directly to fans and never bite off more than you can chew.
Other anomalies: Gangnam Style (#1 on Youtube) and The Rolling Stones’ nosedive.
Personally, I’m shocked by the lack of success of Muse’s new album 2nd Law. I thought it would do well. Either way, it SOUNDS beautiful.
Maybe I’m the only one, but isn’t it weird that with Arturia’s newest ‘V Collection 3′ they don’t allow you to open up older sessions that had Arturia 2.0 series instruments?! I contacted them but apparently they’re working on a ‘workaround’ now.
Arturia still does masterful work, so it looks as though I will have to deal with it.
As usual working on demos that I’m not supposed to talk about.
CTV is using the Olympic broadcast cues that I worked on for the London 2012 games. Because we created so many of them, many of the cues were never heard during the 2010 games, so this time they’re using several new ones. I realize that I’m likely the only one who will care/notice.
The other thing is that The Tenors (aka The Canadian Tenors) have recorded their own version of I Believe. I was proud to have a small part in its making; I recorded a bunch of the vocals and piano.
Just wrapped up a sold out show at Koerner Hall with Stephan! It was crazy – I nearly didn’t make it out alive. So many things went didn’t go according to plan… and yet, it was a great show and everyone seemed to love the show. I’ve linked a performance with Marc Jordan called “Tears of Hercules”. In my opinion, this is one of the best songs Stephan has ever written – worth a listen!
We’re thinking of mixing the audio for video properly down the road. I think it’ll be worth it.
Stephan was commissioned to write Sportsnet’s new baseball theme. We went to the Glen Gould Studio (in the CBC building) to record strings… nice size orchestra too. The theme is very hard hitting, I think people will really appreciate it.
Here’s a taste…
Working on lots of demos lately. One of them has a vocal from this guy. His voice is really cool and unique – mixing it tomorrow. Also, I will be working on a Pia Toscano demo later this week. She’s a former American Idol (top 10) contestant.
Oh, and I wrote a song last weekend. I’ll be making my own demo soon…
